Here is what is being discussed about bonuses and promotions… Millions of retirees are eagerly waiting for news on bank promotions and holiday bonuses. Holiday bonuses will be addressed at the Economy Coordination Committee (EKK) meeting on February 21. Bank promotions will be finalized through a protocol between the Social Security Institution (SGK) and 19 public and private banks. Public banks offered promotion amounts ranging from 8,000 to 12,000 liras last year, while private banks went up to 21,000 liras. It is expected that promotion amounts in public banks will reach up to 18,000 liras by 2025, while private banks may offer up to 40,000 liras. In addition to cash payments, banks provide additional options such as interest-free credit, credit cards, and credit deposit accounts as part of promotions. According to the current practice, retirees commit to receive their pension from the same bank for three years in order to benefit from promotion payments. Furthermore, banks offer different options like interest-free credit and extra accounts along with promotions. Retirees will receive holiday bonuses in March and June this year. Last year, holiday bonuses were increased to 3,000 liras, with a total payment of 6,000 liras to retirees. The public has been discussing amounts between 3,500 and 4,000 liras for this year’s bonuses. If a 30% increase is implemented, the bonus will be 3,900 liras. With a 35% increase, it will rise to 4,050 liras. A 40% raise will bring it to 4,200 liras. And a 50% raise will increase it to 4,500 liras. Additionally, retirees received a 15.75% increase in June. If bonuses are increased by this rate, they will amount to 3,472 liras. Retirees from the Social Security Institution (SSK) and Bağ-Kur, as well as recipients of death, old age, and disability pensions, can take advantage of these benefits. Those who become eligible for retirement as of March 1 will also receive bonuses.
