24-year-old woman mistook simple fatigue: Discovered she had skin cancer months later

Chloe Broad, a 24-year-old living in England, felt tired, exhausted, and weak due to her intense work schedule and recent breakup. She attributed this fatigue to her busy work life and emotional distress. However, she later discovered that the real reason behind it was skin cancer. Working as a flight attendant, Chloe struggled with a constant feeling of tiredness. She attributed this to heartbreak, jet lag, and a hectic work pace. But when she noticed a change in the color of a mole on her right arm, she consulted her doctor. Tests revealed that she had been diagnosed with melanoma, a type of skin cancer. According to a report in The Sun, Chloe admitted that she had overused tanning beds for years and spent a lot of money to achieve a bronzed skin tone. She tried to reach her desired tan using bronzing accelerators and nasal sprays. However, frequent visits to the tanning beds over six years led to her getting skin cancer. Doctors were able to successfully remove the cancerous areas thanks to early diagnosis. But now Chloe will have to undergo regular check-ups and be monitored for five years to prevent the cancer from recurring. Chloe, who has completely quit tanning beds, now only uses spray tans to bronze her skin. She says, “When I was young, I always wanted to use tanning beds to look more attractive, but I paid the price with my health. Now I live with a scar on my body, and it was a big lesson for me. Tanning is nice, but it’s not worth risking your health.” Experts recommend using sunscreen to protect against skin cancer and avoiding tanning beds. Chloe, wanting to raise awareness, shared her experience: “It’s not worth taking this risk.”
