32-Year-Old Doctor Eats 56 Eggs a Week: Explains Unusual Diet

A 32-year-old doctor shared on his social media account that he eats 8 eggs a day, totaling 56 eggs a week. Dr. Sermed Mezher explained the interesting reason behind consuming 56 eggs per week. With 294 thousand followers on TikTok, the 32-year-old family physician and social media influencer Dr. Sermed Mezher revealed the unique diet he follows to maintain his muscular body. Dr. Mezher stated that he consumes 56 eggs per week, having an omelet consisting of 8 egg whites and 1 egg yolk every morning for breakfast. Mentioning that he adopted this eating pattern to preserve muscle mass, Mezher pointed out that he only consumes the egg whites to avoid the fat content but adds one yolk to his diet daily to get vitamins D, A, and B12. Starting his daily routine by waking up at 5 am, Dr. Mezher goes to the gym after breakfast. The omelet, containing over 50 grams of protein, provides him with the protein he needs throughout the day. For lunch, he has chicken, while for dinner, he eats beef salad or potato salmon soup. As for the protein powder, he opts for isolated whey protein with higher protein content instead of standard products. “I am in the muscle preservation stage, so I am neither trying to lose weight nor build muscle. However, I do not recommend everyone to follow a diet like mine because I engage in intense workouts to support my goals,” he says. Dr. Mezher’s eating regimen reminded of fitness enthusiast Joseph Everett living in Japan. Everett increased his muscle mass by 6 kg and reduced his blood cholesterol by consuming 30 eggs a day. Although the effects of eggs on cholesterol have been debated for a long time, recent studies suggest that daily egg consumption with a balanced diet may not increase the risk of heart disease.
