6.1 Magnitude Earthquake in Indonesia

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Indonesia’s Sulawesi island.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the earthquake took place at a depth of 10 kilometers north of the island at 06:55 local time.
The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) did not issue a tsunami warning.
According to initial reports in the country’s media, there was no information shared regarding casualties or injuries after the earthquake. It was reported that aftershocks continued in the region.
Indonesia, with 130 active volcanoes, is situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire and is considered one of the most seismically active countries in the world.
