61 bodies unearthed from the courtyard of Shifa Hospital

In the courtyard of Shifa Hospital in Gaza, where Israel has repeatedly attacked, the bodies of 61 Palestinians buried were unearthed from their resting place. The Palestinian Civil Defense Teams in the Gaza Strip removed the bodies of 61 Palestinians buried in the courtyard of Shifa Medical Complex in the past two days. In a written statement by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, it was noted that efforts are being made to restore health services. Due to the conditions of war, it was stated that the bodies previously buried in the hospital courtyard will be exhumed on Thursday, March 13, and reburied in an official cemetery. The statement indicated that 61 bodies of the 160 previously buried in the hospital courtyard have been unearthed, and some will be taken to the forensic center for identification. In 2020, Shifa Medical Complex provided medical treatment to 460,000 Palestinian citizens and emergency health services to 250,000 citizens. This same hospital conducted 25,000 surgeries and 13,000 deliveries. Muneer El-Bursh, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, had previously stated that as a result of the continuous attacks by the Israeli army for months, 95% of the buildings and medical equipment in the health complex were rendered unusable.
