The project, supported by the Family and Youth Fund of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, that offers interest-free loans of 150,000 Turkish Lira to young people taking the first step towards starting a family, has received 9,000 applications from Istanbul. Initially implemented in earthquake-prone areas, the project was extended nationwide following President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s announcement during the Family Year Introduction Program on January 13, declaring the interest-free credit support provided under the Family and Youth Fund for young couples getting married is now available in all 81 provinces. In Istanbul, approximately 9,000 applications have been submitted for the interest-free marriage loan program, which offers a 2-year grace period and a 48-month term for repayment.
