Stock market declined in the first half of the day

In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 0.36 percent in the first half of the day, dropping to 9,810 points. Moving with a downward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index fell by 35.65 points and 0.36 percent to 9,810.20 points as of 13:00 compared to the previous close. The total trading volume was 37.7 billion Turkish liras. While the banking index gained 0.48 percent, the holding index lost 0.55 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring was the highest gainer with 3.49 percent, while securities investment partnership was the biggest loser with 1.66 percent. With global markets still struggling to digest U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff announcements, attention today turns to the speech Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell will deliver at the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. Analysts noted that the domestic data agenda in the afternoon is calm, with a focus on Powell’s and Bank of England (BoE) Governor Andrew Bailey’s speeches abroad, emphasizing that technically, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,800 and 9,750 points, while resistance levels are at 9,950 and 10,000.
