Slowdown in Cost Increase in Construction Sector

Construction costs continued to rise below inflation. In December, costs increased by 34.27%. The index marked the lowest increase in 45 months. The downward momentum in construction costs persists. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), construction costs rose by 0.70% monthly and 34.27% annually in December 2024. This data represents the lowest increase since March 2021. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the material index increased by 26.18%, while the labor index saw a rise of 54.35%.
