Public Transport Fare Increase in Ankara

An increase in public transportation fares in Ankara will be implemented starting from February 16th, Sunday. Accordingly, the full fare will be 26 Turkish Liras, while the student fare will be 13 Turkish Liras. The monthly unlimited student subscription cost has been raised to 350 Turkish Liras.
A 23.8% increase in public transport fares has been implemented in Ankara.
According to the decision made by the Ankara Transportation Coordination Center, as of February 16th, the full fare price will increase from 21 to 26 Turkish Liras, and the discounted fare will rise from 10.50 to 13 Turkish Liras.
The rationale for the fare increase cited inflation and the rise in fuel prices.
Additionally, the monthly unlimited student subscription cost has been raised from 300 to 350 Turkish Liras per month.
In a statement from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, it was mentioned that the support provided to private buses will continue.
It was also announced that bus cards for citizens receiving minimum wage and benefiting from the municipality’s support will have 50 free rides loaded onto them monthly.
