Borrowing of 40 billion liras from Treasury

The Treasury borrowed approximately 40.4 billion liras through a bond auction. The Ministry of Treasury and Finance went into debt by 40 billion 438.3 million liras in a government bond auction held today. The auction included the reissuance of a 4-year (1029 days) Treasury bond indexed to the Turkish Lira Reference Rate with quarterly coupon payments. The periodical interest rate in the auction was 12.51 percent. With a nominal bid of 75 billion 514.3 million liras, the nominal sales reached 20 billion 501.3 million liras, while the net sales were 22 billion 438.3 million liras in total. All of the 3 billion liras bid from the public sector was covered in the auction, and market makers submitted bids totaling 30 billion 401 million liras, with sales of 15 billion liras made to this group. Thus, the Treasury ended up borrowing 40 billion 438.3 million liras through the government auction.
