Today, Hamas will hand over the lifeless bodies of 4 hostages to Israel. On Saturday, 6 hostages will be released, and in return, Palestinian prisoners will also be set free. However, uncertainty remains regarding the second stage of the ceasefire and the hostage-prisoner exchange agreement.

Hamas will deliver the lifeless bodies of 4 hostages to Israel today, stating, “They were all killed by Zionist occupation aircraft bombs.” The names were revealed as mother Shiri Bibas and her 9-month-old baby Ariel, along with 4-year-old Kfir Bibas. It was mentioned that Oded Lisfhitz was also with the Bibas family. The Israel Prime Minister’s Office confirmed they received the list of names. However, the relatives of the Bibas family announced they did not approve of the names being disclosed. The Israel Prime Minister’s Office held the army responsible for this situation. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also commented on the matter, stating, “It will be a very difficult day for the State of Israel.”

6 PRISONERS TO BE RELEASED ON SATURDAY

Hamas announced that Palestinian prisoners to be released in exchange for the lifeless bodies of hostages will be freed on Saturday. Additionally, Hamas will release the remaining surviving hostages on Saturday as well. According to the Israeli media, the names of these 6 individuals have been communicated to Tel Aviv. In return, Israel will release Palestinian prisoners.

UNCERTAINTY PERSISTS IN THE SECOND STAGE

However, uncertainty remains regarding the second stage of the ceasefire, hostage, and prisoner exchange agreement.

Israel’s demand is for the complete elimination of Hamas from the Gaza Strip. Hamas, on the other hand, declared that it will not accept the disarmament of Gaza or leaving Gaza. Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh stated, “No one can get us out of Gaza. This is the land of our fathers and ancestors.”

END OF THE FIRST STAGE OF CEASEFIRE

With Hamas delivering the bodies of 6 Israeli captives and 8 prisoners, the exchange process in the first stage of the ceasefire agreement will be completed. So far, Hamas has released 19 Israeli captives alive. Qatar announced on January 15th an agreement between Israel and Hamas on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza, which came into effect on January 19th, Sunday, at 12:15 Turkish time. The agreement consists of three stages. During the first 42 days of the ceasefire agreement, the release of 33 Israeli captives and over 1900 Palestinian prisoners was decided.

According to the agreement, if the first stage is successfully completed, the remaining hostages will be released in the second stage. Israel will then withdraw completely from Gaza. In the third stage, the ceasefire in Gaza will become permanent, and the reconstruction of Gaza will commence.
