US Statement on Zelensky from ABD: Trump Disappointed

US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz expressed that President Donald Trump is deeply disappointed with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky’s stance on peace.

During a press briefing held at the White House to discuss the Russia-Ukraine War agenda, US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky. Waltz pointed out that the war that has been going on for 3 years should never have started and should not have reached this point, blaming the prolonged conflict on the significant role played by the Ukrainian government. Waltz stated that President Trump’s sole objective is to end the war, emphasizing that the end of the war would benefit all sides.

“TRUMP, DISAPPOINTED” Accusing Ukrainian President Zelensky, Waltz remarked, “President Trump is deeply disappointed with Zelensky for not coming to the table and failing to seize this opportunity. Zelensky will eventually come to this point, and hopefully it will happen quickly.” Criticizing the Kiev administration for not being sufficiently “grateful” for the support provided by the US so far, Waltz said, “The disappointment that President Trump feels towards Zelensky is multifaceted. Ukraine needs to deeply appreciate what they, American taxpayers, and President Trump’s team have achieved from the first term until now. Therefore, some of the statements coming from Kiev were frankly unacceptable insults to President Trump.” Trump had called Zelensky a “dictator” On the social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated, “I love Ukraine but Zelensky did a terrible job. His country fell apart and millions of people died unnecessarily. Zelensky, a dictator who did not hold elections, better hurry or he will lose his country.” UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his support for Zelensky as the “democratically elected president of Ukraine” in a phone call with Zelensky. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz characterized US President Donald Trump’s comments about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “wrong and dangerous.” In a post on his social media account, French President Emmanuel Macron shared his goal of ending the war with the US President, where his failure to mention Zelensky’s name stood out. Instead, Macron expressed solidarity with Ukraine and stated that the Kiev administration should be at the negotiation table.
