Turkish Included: Migrants Deported from the US Reach Costa Rica

Under President Trump’s illegal immigration plan, many migrants have reached Costa Rica. Among those deported are Turks. The Costa Rican government stated that procedures are in place for deported migrants to return to their countries voluntarily. Within the agreement to accept 200 individuals from different countries deported from the US, Costa Rica received a group of migrants including Turks.
Consisting mostly of Asians, the group was sent to Costa Rica as part of the initiative started by US President Donald Trump against illegal immigration, which involves working with countries to accept citizens from different nations. Speaking at the airport in San Jose, the deputy security minister of Costa Rica, Omer Badilla, said that while procedures are in place for migrants to return to their countries voluntarily, they can stay in Costa Rica for a month. The group of families includes citizens from Uzbekistan, China, Armenia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Russia, Georgia, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, and Ghana.
