Renowned figure in the technology sector, Elon Musk, has announced plans to establish a game studio within the artificial intelligence company xAI.

The advanced artificial intelligence model of xAI, Grok 3, has been revealed to be capable of creating two-dimensional Tetris-like games using the Python programming language. Musk claims that Grok 3 could be used in the future to produce more intricate and realistic-looking games. If Musk’s vision comes to fruition, the cost of producing large-scale, photo-realistic games could significantly decrease. The company is also hopeful that Grok can greatly accelerate the game development process. Game production costs have reached incredible dimensions. The costs of producing video games with ultra-realistic graphics using today’s technology have reached levels that could put companies in difficult situations. The development and marketing costs of the game Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War released in 2020 had reached 700 million dollars. For similar amounts of money to be spent in the production process, games would need to sell tens of millions of copies just to break even. Artificial intelligence-supported game development studios aim to produce games of the same production quality at a much lower cost.

However, based on initial examples, it is estimated that at least five years would be needed for games generated with artificial intelligence to have photo-realistic graphics and animations. A team of 9 people was established. As the first step of xAI Game Studios, 9 individuals were assigned roles from within the company.

Speaking in a live stream for the introduction of Grok 3, Elon Musk invited talented game developers to join the xAI studio. The technology giant aims to kickstart a new era in the gaming world by bringing more developers under its roof.
