Stock Exchange Started the Day with a Decrease

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul began the day with a 0.08% decrease, starting at 9,565.61 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index decreased by 7.60 points and 0.08% compared to the previous close, reaching 9,565.61 points. While the banking index lost 0.36%, the holding index increased by 0.06%. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring gained the most with 0.44%, while banking suffered the most losses. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul followed a primarily bullish trend yesterday, closing the day at 9,573.21 points with a 1.29% gain. In the global markets, a mixed trend stands out with President Donald Trump’s statements on tariffs and Nvidia’s financial results falling short of high expectations. Today, investors are focusing on the growth and core personal consumption expenditures price index data to be announced in the US. Additionally, Borsa Istanbul announced that the uptick rule will continue to be implemented in short selling transactions for shares included in the BIST 50 index. Analysts noted that from a technical standpoint, the support is at 9,500 and 9,400 points in the BIST 100 index, while 9,600 and 9,700 levels are seen as resistance.
