Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumaklı on NTV: Monitoring Price Movements Closely

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumaklı is answering questions on current issues during the NTV live broadcast. Minister Yumaklı highlights the following points from his statements:
COMBATING EXORBITANT PRICES
We are closely monitoring price movements in the market as three ministries. We are not questioning anyone’s reasonable profit, the issue at hand is exorbitant prices. If a product costing 1 lira is sold to consumers for 10 lira, there is a problem. Last month, we held a meeting with all food retailers in Turkey, along with three ministries. We are on the field, including institutions responsible for regulating operations, to fulfill our regulatory duties.
There is no price increase in our country due to supply regarding red meat. There have been speculative attempts to increase prices. As the Meat and Milk Institution, we are carrying out our market regulation duty. Exorbitant prices are not acceptable to our government and ministries. This will not be a one-time but a continuous monitoring process.
