Green beans – Istanbul’s inflation champion

In Istanbul, the product that saw the biggest price increase in February was green beans, with a rise of 21.55%. The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products with the highest and lowest price changes in February. Out of 336 main products in the index compared to the previous month, the prices of 207 increased while 30 decreased. In the category of food and non-alcoholic beverages, green beans had the highest price increase at 21.55%. Other products that experienced price hikes included cucumber at 19.39%, gold jewelry at 16.74%, barber services at 14.43%, mandatory traffic insurance at 13.95%, phyllo dough at 12.76%, curtains at 12.36%, cola at 11.46%, chips at 9.51%, biscuits at 9.09%, molasses at 8.89%, clotted cream at 8.84%, bananas at 8.64%, yogurt at 7.98%, and fish at 7.93%. On the other hand, cauliflower saw the biggest decrease in price at 33% in February.
