Ukraine Bombing: Children Killed in Russian Strikes with Iskander Missiles

Authorities in Kiev have disclosed that 14 people, including 5 children, were killed in Russian bombardments targeting the Ukrainian cities of Dobropillia and Kharkiv. The Ukrainian military reported that Russia carried out the attack using Iskander missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced today that at least 11 people, including 5 children, lost their lives and 30 were injured in the missile and drone attacks launched by Russia on the town of Dobropillia in the country’s eastern region.
The Ministry added that 3 civilians were killed in a drone strike on the northeastern Kharkiv region. According to the statement, Russian forces attacked Dobropillia with ballistic missiles, multiple rocket launchers, and drones, causing damage to an eight-story building and 30 vehicles. The Ministry stated on the Telegram messaging app, “While the fire was being extinguished, the occupiers attacked again, causing damage to a fire truck.”
Officials also shared photos showing partially collapsed buildings engulfed in flames, with rescue teams removing debris from the structures. Dobropillia, with a population of around 28,000 before the war, is situated 22 kilometers from the front line in the northern Donetsk region, an important center north of Donetsk.
Pokrovsk has been under attack by Russian troops for weeks. The Ministry also noted that at least 3 people were killed and 7 others were injured in a separate drone attack on the Kharkiv region overnight.
The Ukrainian military stated that Russia launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, one Iskander-K cruise missile, and 145 UAVs against Ukraine throughout the night. The air force reportedly shot down a cruise missile and 79 UAVs. The army mentioned that 54 UAVs likely failed to reach their targets due to electronic countermeasures.
