The holiday bonus for retirees is increasing, and the exact increase rate will be determined tomorrow. It is expected that the bonus, currently at 3,000 lira, will increase by 33% to 4,000 lira. The final decision on the holiday bonus increase for millions of retirees will be made in the new week. A legal regulation is required for the increase in retirement bonuses.

If the decision on the increase rate is made in the new week, the regulation is expected to be sent to the Presidency of the Parliament. Retirees receive bonuses for Ramadan and Eid al-Adha every year. This year, bonuses will be paid in March and June. Economic management met this week to discuss the increase in holiday bonuses for retirees. Impact analyses were evaluated for three different scenarios prepared by the bureaucrats of the Treasury and Ministry of Finance.

Currently, the budget cost of the 6,000 lira bonus given to retirees for two holidays is 99 billion lira… If the bonus is increased to 4,000 lira, there will be an additional cost of 34.5 billion lira. Approximately 16 million retirees will benefit from the regulation. Those who become eligible for retirement as of 1 March will also be eligible for the holiday bonus.
