Industrial production increased by 1.2% on an annual basis in January. However, it decreased by 2.3% on a monthly basis. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released data on industrial production. In January, industrial production decreased by 2.3% on a monthly basis but increased by 1.2% annually. When the sub-sectors of industry are analyzed, in January, the mining and quarrying sector index decreased by 0.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, the manufacturing industry sector index increased by 1.2%, and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector index increased by 5%. When the sub-sectors of industry are examined in January 2025, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 7.5% compared to the previous month, the manufacturing industry sector index decreased by 3%, and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector index decreased by 0.8%.
