Fuego Volcano Erupts, Evacuation of 30 Thousand People Imminent

An eruption took place at the Fuego Volcano, located in Guatemala, a country in Central America, at an altitude of 3,763 meters. At least 300 families have been evacuated from their homes, with reports indicating that 30 thousand people are at risk of evacuation. The eruption occurred at the Fuego Volcano in Guatemala, considered one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Due to volcanic activity that began on Sunday night, 300 families living in risky areas have been evacuated from their homes. Following the eruption that took place about 50 kilometers southwest of the capital, Guatemala City, spewing lava and ash clouds were captured on amateur cameras, while officials announced that 30 thousand people are at risk of evacuation. There have been no casualties reported so far, but it is noted that as a precaution, many schools have suspended classes and risky roads have been closed to traffic. The Fuego Volcano, which means “fire” in Spanish and is seen as one of the world’s most active volcanoes, experienced a major eruption in 2018, resulting in the loss of 215 lives.
