42-year-old cyclist from Izmir travels the world: Memoirs documented in a book

Ersin Vural, a traveler from Izmir who left his job to embark on a world tour by bike, has documented his memories from the countries he visited in a book. Expressing that his next goal is to explore Asian countries, Vural said, “Sometimes I face difficulties due to seasonal conditions, but I have embraced this lifestyle. I only come home in winter. Apart from that, I spend all my time on my bike.” The 42-year-old cyclist traveler, living in Torbalı district, decided to quit his job and start traveling. With a passion for cycling, he started his journey from Turkey and has visited various countries such as Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia so far. Accumulating many memories on the road, the travel enthusiast decided to share his experiences with his followers in a book titled ‘Silk Road: Bicycle Diaries’. Vural mentioned that he goes on tours without any sponsor support and stays in a tent he carries with him, saying, “Sometimes I face difficulties due to seasonal conditions. But I have embraced this lifestyle. I only come home in winter. Apart from that, I spend all my time on my bike. In April, I will continue my world tour from where I left off. I will start my new tour from Izmir, pass through Ağrı to Iran, and visit Asian countries.”
