Putin’s Visit to Kursk Leads to a Game-Changing Move: Russia Regains Control of Suvca

Officials in Moscow announced that Suvca, the largest town under the control of the Ukrainian army in the hotly contested Kursk region, has been recaptured.

Russian forces have regained control of Suvca, a significant town in Kursk to the west of Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated today that the region has been taken back from Ukrainian forces. The Ministry noted that Moscow forces have also retaken two other villages named Melovoi and Podol. Retaking Suvca, which hosts an unused gas metering station for the gas sent to Europe by Russia, is a crucial gain for Russia in its efforts to remove Ukrainian forces holding onto Kursk since last August. President Vladimir Putin, dressed in military attire, visited Russian troops in Kursk yesterday and ordered them to advance swiftly and retake the remaining areas held by Ukraine.
