TERRORISM ISSUE IN PAKISTAN
Armed attacks in Pakistan are particularly concentrated in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. Armed groups claiming to advocate for the rights of the Pashtun and Baloch ethnic groups in both provinces carry out attacks on Pakistan security forces and civilians. Islamabad alleges that the Pakistan Taliban (TTP) is based in Afghanistan and organizes its attacks from there, but the Afghan government denies these claims. In Balochistan, the Balochistan Liberation Army’s (BLA) attacks are prominent. The BLA calls for the separation of Balochistan province from Pakistan and demands that the Baloch people govern the region.
