Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz claimed that they restarted the attacks due to Hamas refusing to release Israeli prisoners. Katz declared, “If Hamas does not release all prisoners, the gates of hell will open in Gaza.” Katz, who issued a threat of intense bombardment, mentioned that they will continue the attacks until reaching their goals. The White House announced that Israel consulted Washington before the attacks. Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, in a statement to Fox News, mentioned that US President Donald Trump is not afraid to support Israel. She said, “Not only Israel, but anyone who wants to terrorize the United States will pay the price. All hell will break loose.” The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office revealed that the Prime Minister and Defense Minister gave the army strong orders for action against Hamas. Israeli warplanes bombed a school where Palestinians took shelter in the ed-Derec neighborhood and 3 houses in the Tel el-Heva neighborhood. Israeli warplanes also targeted the Burec and Nusayrat Refugee Camps in the central part of Gaza.
