Stock market showed a horizontal trend in the first half

In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index showed a horizontal trend in the first half of the day. The BIST 100 index decreased by 0.71 points and 0.01 percent to 10,860.12 points as of 1:00 pm compared to the previous closing. The total trading volume was 58.2 billion lira. While the banking index lost 0.96 percent, the holding index gained 0.56 percent. Among sector indices, construction had the highest gain with 2.83 percent, while forestry and paper printing had the highest loss with 1.42 percent. Despite the challenging pricing due to U.S. President Donald Trump’s protectionist trade approach in global markets, recoveries are continuing after last week’s selling pressure. Analysts pointed out that the domestic data agenda would be calm in the afternoon, but intense data agenda in the U.S., including industrial production and capacity utilization rate, would be followed, specifying that technically, support levels for the BIST 100 index were at 10,800 and 10,700, while resistance levels were at 10,900 and 11,000 points.
