Spain hit by floods: 2 people dead

In Spain, a flood disaster caused by heavy rainfall has claimed the lives of 2 people, with hundreds evacuated. Schools were closed, and a total of 52 roads were shut down due to the intense rain.

The Laurence storm, which struck in the south of Spain yesterday, led to heavy rainfall and flooding.

It was reported that the lifeless bodies of two people in a car swept away by floodwaters were found in the city of Sevilla in the Andalusia region.

In Cordoba, it was learned that one person has been missing since Monday, and search operations are ongoing.

In Malaga, the overflowing of the Guadalhorce and Campanillas rivers following heavy rainfall resulted in streets and avenues being submerged.

370 HOUSES EVACUATED

As schools closed, emergency services evacuated approximately 370 homes in the areas surrounding the flooded rivers.

Those trapped in their homes were rescued by teams. According to the Directorate General of Traffic, a total of 52 roads were closed to traffic due to the heavy rain.

Spain is expecting more intense rainfall due to the Martinho storm tomorrow.
