Stock market rose in the first half of the day

In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index rose by 2.05 percent in the first half of the day, reaching 10,062.42 points. Moving in an upward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index increased to 10,062.42 points with a rise of 202.13 points and 2.05 percent as of 13.00. The total trading volume was 110 billion lira. While the banking index lost 3.18 percent, the holding index gained 2.02 percent. Among the sector indices, technology was the biggest gainer with 4.12 percent, while banking was the biggest loser. In global markets, following the decision of the US Federal Reserve to keep the policy rate unchanged, a mixed trend is prominent, with eyes now on the interest rate decision of the Bank of England (BoE) today. On the other hand, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) started TL-settled forward foreign exchange selling transactions to ensure the healthy functioning of the foreign exchange market, prevent volatility in exchange rates, and balance foreign exchange liquidity. Analysts expressed that weekly money and bank statistics domestically in the afternoon and a busy data agenda including the interest rate decision of the BoE and statements by BoE Governor Andrew Bailey internationally will be followed, remarking that technically the BIST 100 index has 10,100 and 10,200 points as resistance, and 10,000 and 9,900 levels as support.
