In the Mexican capital of Mexico City, dozens of people participated in a march to protest against Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

Marching through the busy streets of Mexico City with Palestinian flags in hand, the protestors expressed their outrage at Israel for breaking the ceasefire and resuming attacks on the Gaza Strip. Supporters of Palestine urged the government of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to cut diplomatic ties with Israel. Participants in the demonstration lit candles and left flowers as a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Mexican activist Benjamin Ortiz drew attention to the Palestinians who lost their lives in Gaza as a result of Israel’s bombardment.

“MEXICO SHOULD NOT REMAIN SILENT” Palestinian supporter Rui, who participated in the protest, emphasized the horror and sadness of the events in Gaza, stating, “Mexico has close economic ties with Israel, and there are people here fighting for Israel. Mexico should not remain silent about what Israel is doing.”
