Kremlin: Europe needs to focus on peace

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov emphasized the importance of Europe focusing on peace, stating that “Europe is talking about war and militarizing itself.” Peskov also highlighted the significant potential for cooperation between Russia and the US.
Dmitri Peskov, the spokesperson for the Kremlin, assessed current issues in an interview with Rossiya-1 television channel. Mentioning the influence of the US on global politics, Peskov pointed out the vast potential for cooperation between Russia and the US in various areas.
EVALUATING THE PHONE CALL Evaluating the recent phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, Peskov noted that it was one of the longest conversations, bringing the two leaders closer to a face-to-face meeting. Peskov used the words “There is a definitely trustworthy, sincere, and constructive environment between the two leaders.” He also raised attention to the attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces on Russian energy infrastructure, stating “The Kyiv government might promise a lot, but Zelenskiy’s words are not matched with actions. The Russian side has been keeping its promises for a few days, which cannot be said for Kyiv.”
“WAR CANNOT BE STOPPED WITHOUT SOLVING THE UKRAINE CRISIS” Addressing Europe’s approach to the Ukraine crisis, Peskov expressed, “Europe needs to focus on peace. Instead, Europe talks about war and militarizing itself. This is very interesting. Rather than thinking about eliminating the root causes of the Ukraine crisis, which is necessary for stopping the war, NATO plans to deploy troops to Ukraine.” Peskov regarded French President Emmanuel Macron’s plans to use French nuclear capacity for European security as “very dangerous.”
Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov shared the hope that eventually, real politicians in favor of peace will come to power in Europe.
