With the feast of Ramadan approaching, 8 thousand bus journeys will be organized daily. With the mid-term break in schools and a total holiday of 9 days, it is expected that 3.5 million people will travel.

The days until the Feast of Ramadan holiday are numbered. Mustafa Yıldırım, the President of the Federation of All Bus Operators, provided information on bus journeys. Pointing out that this year the 2024-2025 academic year mid-term break coincides with the Feast of Ramadan, which covers a 9-day period, Yıldırım stated that there will be a peak in the intensity of bus journeys starting from the middle of this week. Mentioning that tickets are running out for normal journeys, Yıldırım expressed, “The activity on buses starting on March 27th due to the Feast of Ramadan holiday will culminate on the return journey on April 6-7. If there is a demand from bus companies, we will apply to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to use tourism vehicles for passenger transportation.”

8 THOUSAND JOURNEYS TO BE ORGANIZED Yıldırım emphasized that an average of 8 thousand bus journeys are currently organized nationwide, “Approximately 8,500 buses will carry passengers daily during the Ramadan Feast holiday,” he stated.

Yıldırım said that they expect around 3.5 million people to travel by buses during the 9-day holiday period. He also mentioned that there will be no increase in bus ticket prices, and the base prices determined by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will be applied.
