Decision on Vehicle Recognition Unit from Mint: Refund for Overpaying!

The Mint has updated the assembly fee for the Vehicle Recognition Unit set for the year 2025. According to the decision, the fee, which was 2,791.45 TL, has been reduced to 2,172 TL. Those who paid a high price will receive a refund of 619.45 TL.
To register the fuel purchases of vehicles in Turkey and prevent tax evasion, the assembly fees in the National Vehicle Recognition System (NVRS) have been updated. The assembly and service fee for the chips, called the Vehicle Recognition Unit (VRU), which forms the basis of the system, was announced as 2,791.45 TL including VAT for the year 2025. According to the announcement made by the Mint, between March 25, 2025, and April 30, 2025, the total assembly service fee including VAT will be applied as 2,172 TL. According to the regulation dated March 24, 2025, those who have paid for the VRU installation under NVRS for the year 2025 will receive a refund of 619.45 TL per vehicle. Additionally, those who have not installed the unit but have paid the fee for the year 2025 can also receive the same refund. Vehicle owners applying to NVRS for the first time within the specified dates will also pay 2,172 TL. Refunds will be made via bank transfer.
