Chery’s Massive Investment in Turkey

The Chinese electric car company Chery is set to invest $1 billion in Samsun, Turkey. The facility, where next-generation vehicles will be manufactured, will provide employment for 5,000 people. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan awarded a certificate of appreciation to company representatives for Chery’s investment in a facility with an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles in Samsun. Following the introduction of Turkey’s 2030 Industry and Technology Strategy, President Erdoğan awarded certificates of appreciation to companies investing in Turkey. It was stated that the facility to be established in Samsun with an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles will produce new generation electric vehicles and parts for Chery stakeholders, and will include a project involving an R&D center. It was indicated that the investment is planned to be $1 billion and will provide employment for 5,000 people.
