Investigation Initiated by Competition Board against Apple and 4 Companies

The Competition Board has launched an investigation into Apple, Destek Bilişim, Easycep Bilişim, Getmobil Teknoloji, and HB Bilişim on allegations of coordinating prices. The Competition Authority initiated an investigation into Apple, Destek Bilişim, Easycep Bilişim, Getmobil Teknoloji, and HB Bilişim. The statement highlighted that the preliminary inquiry conducted by the Competition Board regarding whether Apple Technology and Sales Limited Company (APPLE), engaging in sales and distribution activities in Turkey including the import and export of technological devices such as computers, tablets, mobile phones, headphones, peripherals, and Apple or third-party branded accessories, has violated Article 4 of the Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition by intervening in the resale price of resellers. It is recalled that the Board made a decision on this issue. Based on the findings obtained during on-site inspections carried out as part of the preliminary investigation, the Board examined during its meeting dated 27.02.2025 whether Apple violated Article 4 of Law No. 4054 by coordinating the resale price and/or campaign conditions of Apple branded products and the buyback prices applied by the enterprises operating in the buyback market with the participation of the companies listed below; Apple, Destek Bilişim Proje ve Servis Hizmetleri Sanayi Dış Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, Easycep Bilişim ve Ticaret AŞ, Getmobil Teknoloji AŞ, and HB Bilişim Teknolojileri Sanayi Tic. AŞ under Article 41 of Law No. 4054, it was decided to initiate an investigation with the decision numbered 25-08/184-M(1).
