The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) called for a ceasefire after stating that over 180 children were killed in a day in Gaza under Israeli attacks. UNRWA made a statement on the situation in Gaza where Israel resumed its intense attacks on March 18, breaking the ceasefire through its social media account. The statement mentioned that “over 180 children were reported killed in Gaza in a single day. If a ceasefire is not restored, extensive loss of life will continue.”

ISRAEL BREAKS CEASEFIRE, ATTACKS RESUMED

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army’s attacks on Gaza have resulted in the loss of over 18,000 children’s lives, with more than 1000 being infants.

Following the ceasefire that came into effect on January 19 in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces resumed their violent attacks on the morning of March 18. Since the resumption of Israeli attacks, over 830 Palestinians, mostly elderly, women, and children, lost their lives, and more than 1663 people were injured. The number of casualties in attacks on the Gaza Strip carried out by Israel since October 7, 2023, has increased by 25 in the last 24 hours, reaching 50,208. The Ministry of Health in Gaza released a written statement on the recent casualties and injuries in Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza. It was reported that in the last 24 hours, 25 dead and 82 wounded were brought to hospitals in Gaza. It was stated that since the ceasefire reached on January 19 was broken by Israel, 855 Palestinians lost their lives, and 1869 were injured in the attacks since March 18. The number of Palestinians killed in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has now reached 50,208, with the injured count at 113,910. Reports indicate that there are still thousands of dead under the rubble in the Gaza Strip.
