Stock Market Declined in the First Half of the Day

During the first half of the day in Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index decreased by 1.37%, reaching 9,480.91 points. The BIST 100 index, moving with a downward trend in the first half of the day, dropped to 9,480.91 points with a decrease of 131.92 points and 1.37% compared to the previous closing at 13:00. The total trading volume was 34.7 billion Turkish lira. The banking index lost 2.15%, while the holding index decreased by 0.79%. Among the sector indices, mining gained the most with 0.57%, while insurance lost the most with 3.57%. Global markets are following a negative trend amid concerns that trade wars could intensify further ahead of tariff decisions to be announced in the US next week. Investors are now focusing on the personal consumption expenditures data to be released today in the US. Analysts mentioned that the data agenda is calm domestically in the afternoon, while in the US, personal consumption expenditures (PCE) and the University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index will be monitored, indicating that technically, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,400 and 9,300 points, with resistance levels at 9,600 and 9,700 levels.
