The shock of the new import duties announced by Donald Trump is being felt in the world economy. Trump has imposed a minimum of 10% additional tax on all countries. He has set much higher additional tariffs for some countries. China will face a 34% tariff, India 26%, Japan 24%, and the European Union 20%.
