BYD’s Ship Arrives in Turkey with 7 Thousand Vehicles

The vehicle ship of BYD, which was spotted passing through the Dardanelles Strait and Osmangazi Bridge, has reached the Safiport Port in Derince district of Kocaeli. The ship carries 7 thousand vehicles.On February 25th, BYD CHANGZHOU set sail from Ningbo Port in China to make the deliveries, and after a journey of about 39 days, it arrived at Safiport Port in Derince district of Kocaeli yesterday.The ship, with a capacity of 7 thousand vehicles, measures 199.9 meters in length and 38 meters in width. Thanks to its 69,250 gross tonnage and 21,400 net tonnage capacity, large-scale shipments are efficiently carried out.The ship operates with a dual-fuel propulsion system, reducing carbon emissions by using liquefied natural gas. This environmentally friendly technology supports the company’s global sustainability goals.While continuing to introduce innovations in Turkey, BYD is strengthening its presence in the market with new vehicle shipments. The interest shown by Turkish consumers in the company’s models enhances the brand’s position in the market, as according to the data from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), BYD was the fastest-growing brand in the Turkish Passenger Car Market in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year.
