Russia: Ukraine hits our energy infrastructure despite agreement

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine has launched attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, alleging a violation of the agreement reached with the United States.

In a written statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was stated that Ukraine carried out attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on energy infrastructure facilities in the Bryansk, Rostov, and Voronezh regions of Russia and in Crimea, which has been annexed, in the past 24 hours. The statement indicated that natural gas pipelines were damaged and power outages occurred in some areas as a result of the attacks, stating that “since Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on March 18 that attacks on energy infrastructure would cease, Russia’s energy infrastructure has been under attack.”

A 30-DAY AGREEMENT HAD BEEN REACHED After the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 18, it was announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to suspend attacks on energy infrastructure facilities for 30 days. The Kremlin had stated that under the agreement with the US, attacks on facilities such as oil refineries and energy pipelines in Russia and Ukraine would be halted.
