Hamas responded to Israel breaking the ceasefire in Gaza by launching 10 rockets towards the coastal cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod from the Deir al-Balah area in the center of Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that 1 person was injured in the attack.

According to the IDF, 5 rockets were intercepted by the air defense system. It was reported that a person injured by shrapnel from a rocket that fell in Ashkelon was taken to Barzilai Hospital.

Some residents in the area were lightly injured as they rushed to shelters during the moments of panic. The attack and damages in different areas were captured on amateur cameras.

The military wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it was a response to “Israel’s massacres against civilians.”
