The deadline for submitting declarations for those earning income from rent ends today. It is crucial to be aware of the limits of 33,000 liras for a house and 230,000 liras for a workplace. Income tax payers are still in the period of submitting and paying declarations for the year 2024. Due to requests received during Ramadan Bayram, the deadline for submitting declarations was extended from April 2 to April 7. Taxpayers subject to real taxation due to commercial, agricultural, and professional activities can submit their annual income tax declarations electronically. WHO SHOULD SUBMIT A DECLARATION? Property owners earning at least 33,000 liras annually from their house and 230,000 liras from their workplace will be subject to income tax. Those earning rental income below the exception amount will not have to submit a declaration. WHEN WILL TAX PAYMENT BE DUE? Income tax accrued from annual income tax declarations submitted for gains obtained in the 2024 calendar year can be paid in two equal installments in April and July of 2025. The first installment, along with stamp tax, must be paid by April 7, and the second installment can be paid by July 31. FAILURE TO PAY WILL RESULT IN PENALTIES Failure to submit the declaration electronically within the legal deadline will result in a special irregularity penalty imposed on taxpayers. Additionally, failure to accrue the tax on time will result in additional tax loss penalties and late payment interest for the tax.
