The President of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk referred to President Donald Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro as a “moron.” Musk, who is also the CEO of Tesla, made harsh remarks towards Navarro on social media, calling him “moron” and stating that he is “dumber than a bag of rocks.” Musk’s reaction came in response to Navarro categorizing Tesla as an “assembler” rather than an automaker in an interview. Navarro defended his stance by claiming that Tesla deserved this label due to its use of foreign parts and expressing support for Trump’s tariff policies to promote domestic production of such parts. Contrary to Navarro’s claims, Musk stated that these allegations are “provable false.” While the Trump administration continues to implement global tariffs with the goal of bringing production back to the U.S., Navarro supports this policy by asserting that “America will resume manufacturing, real wages and profits will rise.”
