The Touristic Diyarbakir Express sets off

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Uraloglu, announced that the Touristic Diyarbakir Express will commence its first journey of the new season on April 11th. In a written statement, Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that the Touristic Diyarbakir Express will make a total of 8 trips between April 11th and May 25th. Mentioning that the train will depart from Ankara on Fridays and from Diyarbakir on Sundays, Uraloglu commented, “The first journey of the Touristic Diyarbakir Express will begin on Friday, April 11th. Our train will operate bi-weekly, with 4 outbound and 4 return trips planned to enliven domestic tourism and enhance intercity cultural interaction.”

Describing the project as “where culture meets the rails,” Uraloglu noted that the train departing from Ankara will have a 3-hour break in Malatya, during which passengers can explore the historical and cultural sites of Malatya. On the return journey, the train will depart from Diyarbakir and make a 4-hour stop at the Yolcati station in Elazig. Uraloglu added, “In this way, passengers will have the opportunity to experience the cultural fabric of the region firsthand during the breaks in Malatya and Yolcati. Touristic train journeys are also crucial for revitalizing regional tourism. With these trips, we not only offer passengers the chance to travel from one city to another but also to experience the journey itself. The Touristic Diyarbakir Express is a project where culture meets the rails.”
