Turkey’s Automotive Export to the EU Amounts to Approximately 7 Billion Dollars

According to the information compiled from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association and the Turkey Exporters Assembly, EU countries ranked first with a 72.6% share in Turkey’s automotive exports in the January-March period.

The automotive sector’s exports in the January-March period reached 9 billion 494 million 834 thousand dollars, up 4% from 9 billion 125 million 528 thousand dollars in the same period last year. In the first quarter, the automotive industry, which exports to more than 190 countries, autonomous, and free zones, accounted for 16.8% of Turkey’s total exports during this period.

A 13% INCREASE IN AUTOMOTIVE EXPORTS TO EU COUNTRIES When looked at by country, EU countries took the lead in Turkey’s automotive exports in the January-March period with a 72.6% share. The exports to EU countries in the first 3 months increased by 13%, rising from 6 billion 110 million 387 thousand dollars to 6 billion 893 million 869 thousand dollars compared to the same period last year. Thus, EU countries maintained their position as the most important market for automotive exports.

EXPORTS OF APPROXIMATELY 1.5 BILLION DOLLARS TO GERMANY

Germany, the main market for the automotive industry, also emerged as the top export destination in the first quarter of this year. Automotive exports from Turkey to Germany, which amounted to 1 billion 263 million 157 thousand dollars in the first 3 months of last year, increased by 18% to 1 billion 491 million 390 thousand dollars in the same period this year. Similarly, the second-ranked France, another important market for the automotive sector, saw a 13% increase with exports totaling 1 billion 102 million 509 thousand dollars in the first 3 months of this year.
