ISRAEL RELEASES 10 PALESTINIANS WITH DETERIORATING HEALTH CONDITIONS
Israel released 10 Palestinians it had previously detained from the Gaza Strip due to their “deteriorating health conditions.” The 10 individuals released by the Israeli army entered Gaza through the “Kisufim” crossing east of the city of Khan Yunis. It was observed that the health conditions of those released were not good.
Palestinians whose health had deteriorated due to “torture” in Israeli prisons were transported by Red Crescent vehicles to the Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central Gaza Strip city of Deir al-Balah for health check-ups. It was reported that necessary tests and examinations were conducted at the hospital for the released individuals.
In a statement by the Prisoners Media Office affiliated with Hamas on Telegram, it was noted that the 10 prisoners released had been detained during the attacks carried out by Israeli soldiers on the Jabalia Refugee Camp in the northern Gaza Strip six months ago.
NETANYAHU: AIMING TO RELEASE 10 ISRAELI PRISONERS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that in the ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza with Hamas, they aimed to release 10 Israeli captives in Gaza at once. According to Israel’s Channel 12 TV news, Netanyahu met with the family of Eitan Mor, one of the captives. Netanyahu informed Mor’s family that negotiations aiming to release 10 Israeli captives in Gaza at once were in progress.
The family emphasized the attitude of the Tikva Forum, formed by families close to the right-wing government, advocating for the return of all prisoners in Gaza with a single bus.
EGYPT’S CEASEFIRE OFFER ON THE TABLE
Israeli media reported an updated draft proposal from Egypt that included the release of nine Israeli captives and the handover of two bodies in exchange for a 70-day ceasefire and the release of 2,500 Palestinian prisoners. There were claims that Egypt’s offer involved an 40-70 day ceasefire in Gaza and the release of Palestinian captives in exchange for freeing eight Israeli prisoners.
Hamas announced their move to Cairo, Egypt, for ceasefire negotiations without making any official statements regarding the content of the offer.
