In the US, a man living on the streets struck the lottery. Claiming that the prize changed his life, the man revealed how he would use the money.

A homeless man in the state of California in the US won 1 million dollars from a lottery ticket he purchased at a liquor store.

According to reports in the media, the lucky individual, whose identity was not disclosed, bought the scratch card from the store where he had been a customer for years.

Store manager Wilson Samaan stated to KSBY, “He came into the shop, scratched the ticket, and said, ‘Oh my God, is this real? My friend, I’m no longer homeless!’. I replied, ‘Friend, you hit the jackpot.'”

As reported by The Guardian, the man initially thought he had won 100 thousand dollars, but Samaan confirmed that it was actually 1 million dollars. Samaan then drove the man to Fresno in his car to hand over the ticket.

The winner mentioned that the prize changed his life and that he planned to use the money for a down payment on a house in the area and a car.

In a video released by a local business owner, the lucky man said, “I won a million dollars at Sandy’s Liquor Store in Slo and yes, I can’t wait to get off the streets.”

According to the California Lottery, the odds of a homeless man winning a 1 million dollar prize with the ticket he bought are 2,047,423 to one.
