Critical Day in the Wage Negotiation of Public Workers

Today, an important meeting is scheduled in the wage negotiation of nearly 600 thousand public workers. It is expected that TÜHİS, representing the employer side, will communicate the initial wage demand to public workers.

Following the joint proposal prepared by HAK-İş and Türk-İş submitted to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on February 25th, attention has shifted to the employer side, TÜHİS. Representatives of TÜHİS, in response to the workers’ proposal, will meet with representatives of HAK-İş and Türk-İş at 14:00.

During the meeting hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, it is anticipated that TÜHİS, representing the public employer, will present their initial wage proposal to the workers.

WHAT ARE THE DEMANDS OF PUBLIC WORKERS? Public workers are demanding that the minimum daily wage be raised to 1800 Turkish Liras. Following this increase, a 50% wage raise is requested for the first six months of 2025. For the other six-month periods, a 25% raise is requested with an additional 10% welfare bonus.
