The BIST 100 index started the day with a decrease in Borsa Istanbul. The index dropped by 0.26 percent to 9,369.37 points. Following a sales-driven trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day with a loss of 0.32 percent, reaching 9,393.79 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index decreased to 9,369.37 points with a decrease of 24.42 points and 0.26 percent compared to the previous closing. The banking index lost 0.27 percent, while the holding index lost 0.11 percent. Among the sector indices, the highest gainer was financial leasing factoring with 0.57 percent, while construction was the biggest loser with 1.60 percent. New developments regarding the tariff tension between the US and China have once again increased the risk perception in the recovering global markets, with focus on the speech of the Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell today. Analysts emphasized that today’s domestic housing sales statistics and Fed Chairman Powell’s statements, as well as inflation in the Eurozone and industrial production in the US, will be highlighted. From a technical standpoint, they noted that the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,300 and 9,200 points, with resistance levels at 9,400 and 9,500.
