Hamas Responds to Israeli Defense Minister: “They Admitted Committing War Crime”

Hamas reacted to the announcement by the Israeli Defense Minister that the humanitarian aid embargo on Gaza will continue, stating that these words amount to an admission of war crime. In the statement from Hamas, it was highlighted that the prevention of humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza by the Zionist Defense Minister Katz’s fascist government is a form of pressure, indicating that no aid will enter the region, which is a clear admission of committing a war crime. The statement emphasized that hunger has been used as a weapon, depriving innocent civilians of basic necessities like food, medicine, water, and fuel for the past seven weeks. Katz’s announcement was noted to align with National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s call to prohibit aid entry to the Gaza Strip, challenging all international laws and norms, declaring the intentions to continue the cruel genocide. The statement called for action to halt the “starvation and blockade crime” imposed on the Gaza Strip by the international community, urging the International Criminal Court to prosecute and penalize Katz, Ben Gvir, and all occupying leaders for the brutal crimes committed against humanity. The disappointing response of the international community, the United Nations, the United Nations Security Council, and international judicial bodies to overlook condemning and holding these criminal statements accountable was also emphasized. Katz’s recent statement announcing the continuation of the humanitarian aid embargo to Gaza despite the backlash from far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was also addressed. Katz defended this decision by stating that in the current reality, no one would deliver any humanitarian aid to Gaza as part of Israel’s pressure tactics, dismissing any preparations for aid deliveries. Hamas labeled this move as a “historic mistake,” criticizing the potential future allowance for humanitarian aid entry through private companies.
