Rare Earth Elements Deal Signed Between Ukraine and USA

A memorandum of understanding within the framework of a rare earth elements agreement has reportedly been signed between Ukraine and the USA. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yulia Sviridenko, mentioned on her social media account that they have signed a memorandum of understanding with the US regarding rare earth elements. Sviridenko stated that progress has been made in preparing the text of the rare earth elements agreement expected to be signed with the USA, saying, “Today, we have taken a step towards a joint economic partnership agreement with the USA. Ukraine and the USA have signed a memorandum showing the intention of our teams to conclude a deal that will be beneficial for both of our peoples.” She emphasized that the agreement they are working on will create opportunities for significant investments, infrastructure modernization, and mutually beneficial partnerships between Ukraine and the USA, adding, “We are preparing to establish an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine.” Sviridenko also mentioned, “Next in line is finalizing and signing the agreement text. Then, approval from the parliaments.” Photos shared by Sviridenko show the memorandum being signed online by Sviridenko and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. President Donald Trump, during his meeting at the White House with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, mentioned that they would sign the rare earth elements agreement with Ukraine next Thursday.
